Christmas is the occasion par excellence when greeting cards are sent. The nice ones, the paper ones. The ones that when they arrive in the mailbox, with the handwritten address on the envelope, warm the heart and bring a smile of joy. You can't even compare what it feels like when you receive a paper greeting card, compared to the email or the text message... can you?
Reindeer cards
Born almost by accident, these remain my favourite Christmas cards. They depict the reindeer Rudolf, with all the Christmas decorations in the middle of his antlers. It came about by chance because I initially made a random ink blot... and only later turned it into a reindeer!
These cards come in three colours: pink with gold decorations, green with red decorations and blue with red decorations.
The golden star cards
The Ninja, the little triangle protagonist of most of my drawings, loves Christmas. That is why I created this series of three cards, featuring the Ninja together with a gold star.
Each card is decorated by hand: I add the gold colour, on each card, with the brush. It is a touch that makes it even more precious.
The Christmas card with little trees, stars and candy canes
A nice thick Christmas card, with the ninja in the centre surrounded by decorated little trees, candy canes and stars. On all the stars I apply gold glitter by hand.
The snowflake greeting card
This card, printed on pearl paper in a square format, shows a snowflake surrounded by lots of little things, stars and gift packets. It reproduces the style I also use in the alphabet or personalised letters, but instead of the letter there is the snowflake shape.
The ninja flies in the glider
Drawn by my passion for gliding, I decided to draw the little ninja while at the controls of a glider. It is not just any glider: it is a Standard Libelle, the glider I usually fly in single-seater. The cockpit in this case is full of little gift packages, and the wake left behind is full of little stars covered in iridescent glitter.
Card with paper aeroplane
Still on the wave of my passion for gliding, I drew the ninja flying in a paper aeroplane, in front of a decorated tree and a gift pack. The shadow of the paper aeroplane is a glider, not to deny the origins of the design.
On the tree I applied iridescent glitter by hand.
Spoilt for choice...
I just don't know which one to choose... I left a little piece of my heart in all of them, and every time I find myself adding the decorations by hand, I am filled with joy and a fantastic Christmas feeling.
Which one is your favourite? Let me know, I'm curious!!!
