From sketch to drawing with artificial intelligence - Part 3

Art has always been a means of expression for human beings, but with the advent of artificial intelligence, it has taken on a whole new dimension. In a recent experiment, a simple sketch of a little man flying attached to a group of balloons was processed by artificial intelligence and transformed into a series of beautiful illustrations. The results were coloured and generated in different styles.

From sketch to finished work

The experiment started with a simple sketch of a little man flying attached to a group of balloons. This sketch was fed into an artificial intelligence programme, which then used a technique called 'style transfer' to create new images based on the original sketch. Style transfer is a process in which an artificial intelligence algorithm analyses the style of a particular image and then applies it to another image. In this case, the artificial intelligence algorithm applied different styles to the sketch I had made.

The AI programme created a series of images in record time, each with a unique style. Some images were bright and colourful, while others were more muted and monochrome. Some images had a cartoonish quality, while others were more realistic. The variety of styles created by the AI programme was truly impressive and it was fascinating to see how the programme was able to transform the original sketch into so many different images, taking very little time.

I love these colours and this almost dreamlike feeling with the clouds joining the balloons.

Here the balloons have turned into hot air balloons

This use of colours is very strange and I would never have done it... but it's nice. Also nice are the stripes in the sky.

Transparent balloons? And why not? I hadn't thought of that but it's a fascinating idea....

A couple of images in pencil style... beautiful, fluffy, doable. In the last one, however, the ai even dared to add an artist's signature! This is one of the ethical problems I talk about in the first article.

A help for artists instead of a threat?

The experiment showed the potential of artificial intelligence to help artists in their creative process. Although the original sketch was simple, the artificial intelligence programme was able to take it and transform it into a wide variety of images, each with a unique style. This could be a valuable tool for artists seeking inspiration or wanting to explore different styles and techniques.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the experiment was a fascinating demonstration of the power of artificial intelligence in the field of art. It will be exciting to see how AI will continue to shape and transform the art world in the coming years.
